Niño de sexto grado abre fuego en secundaria de Minnesota

Alrededor de las 8:45 un oficial de recursos escolares detuvo al estudiante, quien realizaba disparos en un pasillo

Esta mañana un niño de sexto grado abrió fuego en los pasillos dentro de la escuela secundaria Plymouth en Minnesota y no se reportaron heridos, dijo la policía.

El padre del menor declaró al medio de comunicación Star Tribune que el niño sacó el arma de su casa y se la llevó a la escuela.

Alrededor de las 8:45 un oficial de recursos escolares detuvo al estudiante, quien realizaba disparos en un pasillo fuera de un baño. El arma fue recuperada.

Las autoridades desalojaron a más de 700 estudiantes hasta aproximadamente el mediodía.

El padre del niño de 12 años aseguró que no vio indicios de un comportamiento peligroso que indicara que su hijo fuerza capaz de accionar un arma en la escuela.

“Creo que se da cuenta del error que ha cometido”, dijo el padre. “Espero que puedan conseguirle la ayuda que necesita”.

El niño se encuentra bajo custodia policial en un centro de detención de menores.

El padre declaró que “el Covid que ha tomado su nivel de estrés” en los estudiantes cuando la experiencia de aprendizaje se vio interrumpida por la pandemia.

Por su parte, la superintendente interina del distrito, Stephanie Burrage, dijo que hubo una situación desafortunada hoy y que “cada vez que hay un arma en la escuela [que] pone a nuestros niños en peligro ... No es un día divertido para nadie manejar un arma en una escuela”. DJ
