Según Global News la Casa Blanca medita la posivilidad de establecer bases militares a 30 killómetros de la frontera

El primer ministro de Canadá, Justin Trudeau, ha manifestado su oposición ante la posible militarización de la frontera entre su país y Estados Unidos, por la pandemia de coronavirus que segue avanzando a escala global.

El mandatario canadiense indicó que ha estado en comunicación constante con la Casa Blanca en estos días, por lo que ve innnecesario el envío de tropas estadounienses a la zona fronteriza.

Trudeau habló sobre el territorio compartido con su vecino y dejó claro que no ve factible cambiar la actual situación: “Canadá y Estado Unidos tienen la frontera más larga no militarizada en el mundo y por el interés de ambos, debe permanecer así".

Cabe mencionar que el viernes pasado ambos países acordaron deportar a los indocumentados que crucen la frontera para solicitar asilo. Además, desde que inició el mandato de Trump son más los cruces de Estados Unidos a Canadá que en sentido contrario. GA
